Outdoor wedding ceremony seating and rugs outside the chapel at Cactus Joe’s in Las Vegas

Cactus Joe’s Desert Elopement Planning Guide

Cactus Joe’s is for couples drawn to desert texture, a little whimsy, and a celebration with room to breathe. Think meaningful vows, portraits among the gardens, and an intimate gathering shaped around the people you love.

Explore the ceremony spaces

The venue’s official weddings page describes desert-garden and greenhouse ceremony settings, multiple location options, and vendor coordination. Ask which spaces are available for your celebration and request a visit or current venue information. Confirm reception availability directly; a future expansion is not a promise of a bookable space.

Plan around comfort and light

Talk through shade, walking surfaces, seating, restrooms, and temperature with the venue. Choose footwear that works on the route between ceremony and portraits. Bring water, allow breaks, and have a comfortable place for guests while you take photos. Ask your photographer how the light falls at the particular ceremony space rather than assuming every desert setting works the same way.

Request a complete venue quote

Ask for the reserved areas, hours, setup access, guest allowance, included furnishings, and any cleanup or vendor requirements in writing. Separate the venue fee from photography, film, florals, officiant services, and planning. A beautiful location does not necessarily include a full planning team or every item in an inspiration photo.

Keep your portrait route manageable

Leave time to explore the booked areas without moving the entire group repeatedly. If you want a second location, build in travel, parking, and any separate permissions. A venue reservation does not grant access to nearby public lands or other businesses. Staying in one setting can leave more room for candid photographs and time together.

Choose a celebration afterward

Decide whether you want a relaxed dinner, a small gathering, or a change of scenery downtown. Confirm a restaurant reservation for your group and ask about private space, attire, timing, and photography before including it in the plan. Leave room to freshen up after outdoor portraits.
